What Are the Reasons for Computer Lagging?
By Tauqeer Ul Hassan

Many computer users will definitely experience it lagging and getting slowed down. Browsing is never easy when a computer lags. A brand new computer will run perfectly like a well-oiled machine. It has less software and there are no problems of internet viruses and spyware. When programs like games, applications, video players and other things are installed, the computer takes up memory while running. If the PC is admired for its absolute speed, the fun goes on for a few more days. Then a day comes that the PC gets all blocked up.

There are various reasons for a computer to lag but the most common are software application and the PC's location, memory and CPU problem. Every computer user knows that many software applications take too much memory in the long run. It's not the PC's fault but it's the fault of the developers. A user may be at the losing end. If the PC's temperature is rising or gathering dust on the sides, the location matters. The location must be ventilated. If the problem is because of the CPU, Windows Task Manager has to be opened a processor has to be acquired that has more than 79% capacity.

If a computer slows down, the problem maybe because the disk is full, bad setting and something wrong with the Internet. Panicking won't be any good in this situation although it can make one anxious. Bad setting and software conflicts can slow down the PC, the user has to always upgrade the hardware for maximizing its performance. De-fragmenting the disk will be god for the PC as some files on the hard disk expand. If they grow bigger, they will move to other clusters of the hard disk. It makes the disk to split up further which may continue. PC is not always safe when connected to the internet, there are dangers of spyware and viruses especially when a virus affected file is downloaded. When your PC has had enough viruses, they will get in the way of your Windows setting- they will occupy much memory and down your PC's system time. So your PC starts to slow down. Windows is not good in handling the files as they may break up or get fragmented. The PC's files tumble over after sometime.

If the computer lags, the first thing is to get Ad-Aware and Spybot and scan the PC with it. Unnecessary files and programs can be deleted and hopefully the problem will be solved.

If the computer slows down, some basic trouble-shooting tips are start by looking into the PC's Windows Registry, Looking into the PC's system hive because it could be having a large system hive and upgrading the PC's RAM. The worst situation is when the PC does not have a firewall and anti-virus program installed. If the basic tips don't solve the problem then it is better to get a professional help.
